This article illustrates the relevance of urinary Legionella pneumophila antigen assays in order to: 1) confirm a suspected diagnosis of Legionella infection; 2) be able to promptly initiate adequate antibiotic therapy, whilst anticipating the risks of complications. This article briefly reviews the recommendations for managing the disease.
